About the Service
At Clementi Court, we have one of the most fulfilling and meaningful jobs you can do. The people we support are all individuals with unique qualities and when you get to know and support them, you truly learn what job satisfaction really means.
The two houses that make up Clementi Court are home to six adults with profound, multiple disabilities and is filled with lots of fun and laughter. We pride ourselves on being a big happy family with the people we support always at the centre of it all. We thrive on providing person-centred active support and encourage this throughout everything we do.
About the role
Support Workers help individuals with all aspects of their daily routines such as personal care, eating and drinking, administering medication and household management.
The people we support love to engage in activities and events. To support them with this is so rewarding as this is when individuals get the chance to follow their dreams and aspirations and do things they would not be able to do were it not for the dedication of their support staff. Examples include; going bowling, cinema trips, days out at the Zoo, spa days and shopping trips. But it doesn’t stop there! We go to a hydrotherapy pool on a weekly basis where the people we support can relax and stretch in the pool and enjoy the sensory lighting system.
Due to our individuals’ complex support needs, you will get the opportunity to work alongside different healthcare professionals. These, include speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, continence nurses, district nurses, G.P’s, neurologists, gastroenterologists, PEG nurses, behavioural specialists, psychologists, advocacy teams, learning disability nurses and many more.
We provide 24/7 support to people, so this role would suit you if you like the idea of working shifts (typically hours for this position will range from 07.00am to 10.00pm on a rota basis, this which involves working morning, evenings and alternate weekends). You may also get the opportunity to accompany the people we support on holidays which are an amazing way to spend quality one-on-one time doing the things which the individual enjoys the most and lots of fun for everyone. We do require staff to undertake sleep in duties as needed, which could be 1 or 2 nights per month. This is to be available if the waking night person requires assistance.
So, if you think you might be interested in working at Clementi Court, we think we can offer you not just a job but a career and a fulfilling, stimulating and satisfying opportunity to work with some brilliant people!
If you are someone who is fun, enthusiastic, has a positive attitude and cares about others then you could be just the person we are looking for, so go ahead and apply….you won’t just be part of a team you will be joining a family.
You don’t need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job - you’ll get plenty of training along the way. This includes specialist training from; district nurses, PEG nurses and our dedicated, in-house physiotherapist. It’s great if you already have experience of learning disabilities and supporting people with complex needs, but this is by no means essential. What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live theirs with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible. You will ideally hold a full UK or EU driver’s license.
